Perth City Link, Perth WA
Perth City Link is one of the city’s most exciting redevelopments. The project will reconnect Perth’s CBD with Northbridge for the first time in over 130 years, since a railway divided the two areas during the 1880’s gold rush. The area, which was a network of bus and train connections, is an exciting new destination with housing, shops, restaurants and offices.
Project Design Brief
As part of the upgrade of the bus infrastructure, the ageing Wellington Street Bus Station was demolished and replaced with a state-of-the-art underground bus terminal. A number of major services were relocated, or built over requiring new access points. Designers needed to ensure that any existing services located in road carriageways met load and access requirements for maintenance works.
- 4-part Rhinocast® access cover
- ACO’s Technical Services provided the structural designer with a detailed rebate drawing for the 4-part multi-part access cover to be incorporated into the pavement
- The Class D (AS 3996) covers are rated to withstand vehicular traffic
- All individual covers were securely bolted to their adjoining frame for vehicular safety
