Gold Coast Cultural Centre Green Bridge, QLD

The construction of the 129 metre long, Green Bridge, linking Chevron Island to Evandale Park, Surfers Paradise, played a key role in the development of the Gold Coast Cultural Precinct. The bridge is a pedestrian and cycle bridge and was named a finalist in the Engineers Australia, Engineering Excellence Awards.

Project Design Brief

As part of the project, accessible and maintainable cable infrastructure for additional lighting, communications and CCTV had to be integrated beneath the new pavement on either side of the bridge. Designers opted to draw these services into large enclosures close to the bridge to run cables into the bridge surrounds, decking and abutments.
